Hi All.

Can someone list the steps to embedding an animated GIF into a forum post (so it just displays directly in the message body, vs an html link to content elsewhere)

Actually, guidance for embedding something like a you tube video would be cool, too.

I have a GIF that i'd like to embed in a message,
but after trying "attaching" and/or "inserting" the GIF file,
it shows up in the posted message body, but isn't animated.

(the GIF is definitely animated when I open the file directly on my computer with a web browser)

Thanks!

PS This would make for a good Sticky. I'm sure most newbies dnt know how to do this,,,

For the forum/message post:

Go to tinypic.com
create an account
upload the gif
on succesful upload, there will be a bunch of links that appear
copy and paste the forum/message board link into your post/message.
It's wrapped in "" tags

I would imagine youtube does the same... that is, provides you with an IMG link upon successful upload.

Thanks JS!

Ahh.. ok.
I thought it was possible to just embed the *.gif itself,
and not a link to an external storage location.
makes sense, now...

I'll give you one guess which GIF I plan to upload... ;-)
