Maybe. Maybe not. It depends a lot of how the parent is learning and how the lessons are applied between sessions. If the parent is learning just by listening to the verbal instruction of the hitting coach, and regurgitating the same cues to their DD, this is not necessarily a productive process, and can easily reinforce some bad habits.

The greatest majority of hitting coaches have no clue how to train hitters and they regurgitate everything youtube has to offer. Hitting is severely over coached. Hitting is between your ears. Being able to get into the head of a player is 95% of the job. The swing is a tiny part of it.

If all the video and gadgets really worked MLB stats would be going through the roof and a .400 average would be common place.

I agree that hitting - standing in the box, facing live pitching - is largely between the batter's ears. Swinging, however, is mechanical. Building a good-quality swing that is reliable and productive when standing in the box is an important component for a good hitter.
