My DD uses an Easton Synge (32/-11.5) for real softballs and an Easton Mystique (32/-11.5) for anything else. Both bats feel exactly the same, but the Synge is a composite and the Mystique is aluminum. I've hit dimpled softballs in batting cages with the Mystique, and the balls being used at our local batting cage are definitely heavier and less "giving" than a real softball. There's no way I would want her using her $199 Synge with the batting cage balls.
