Played some really good 8u allstars this weekend. Their parents had no class at all, heckling an 8 year old pitcher with cheers like “everyone hits!” And screaming “Ball” as the pitcher pitched, yelling “Drop it!” When throws were being made. I was disgusted and it took all the self control I had not to be one of those parents. The best was when there pitcher through a fit and started crying when the umpire wouldn’t give her a strike on a horrible change up. Literally threw the ball at our dug out and the coach just went and gave her a hug. Still can’t beli the ump didn’t toss her! Oh well, I hated losing to them but we were the bigger parents
Yeah it pains me when I see other parents do it, and no one standing up to them. I've seen many instances where we've played a "top" organization where parents curse out umpires along with belittling opposing teams players and the coaches do nothing to address the matter during the game. I known many coaches who don't want to have to deal with it if the player whos parent is causing the ruckus is considered invaluable.
Ive also had instances where a parent on DD's team moans an groans every single mistake they make or can be heard taking shots at one of the players who isn't their own kid. They players can hear it, and I'd often get the response "theyre always like that". Even came pretty close to pulling DD off a team because of it I didnt I may have ended up with a couple of bruised fists.
