Changing numbers from Saturday to Sunday

Last weekend we played a team on Saturday during pool. We wound up playing them again
on Sunday bracket play. I keep score on an Ipad, so I figured it would be easy to put their lineup in.

We were Home team so we had the standard 20 seconds between getting the lineup card and starting the game.

They almost batted the same lineup, but every player had a different number than they did the day before.

I had thought with ASA you had to put the roster in with players numbers at the start of the tournament. Was that legal of them to do that?

Nope. You can switch numbers every game just not during the game except in very unusual and extenuating circumstances. ASA roster has no jersey information on it.

I dream of the day when lineups are no longer communicated with dead tree and ink technology.

Still, though. I feel your pain, canyonjoe. I keep score using both iscore and paper. Some tournament directors have said that if there is a discrepancy they will consult the home paper book, so I always keep both. I would have gone into a complete panic if all the numbers were changed.
