Just curious... how many of you folks finance your travel ball activities by running bingo sessions? And, if you don't mind sharing, how much are you netting per session? Good or bad experience?

We have run Bingo for our organization for the last 25 years for the upkeep of our facilities. At the present time we average about $1000 a week. This varies as the amount of prizes and the number of players vary each week. Recently, because no one won on a jackpot for 20 weeks and the prize grew large, we were getting larger crowds and were making $2500 a week for a time. We are the only baseball/softball organization in our area that runs a bingo. However, we receive little, if any, assistance from our local municipality. The main problem we have is a lack of volunteers and after a few years the oldtimers get burned out and forget why they are there. We offer 1 free house registration ($59) for anyone who works 12 sessions in 1 calendar year.

We have these bingo nights 3 times a year with our local Knights of Columbus.Usually make $1,200 per session with 30 adults signing up for our team.
All we do is run concessions and clean up after. Easy money for the teams.

I know of a team about an hour away that does bingo twice a month. The parents for the younger groups work it, then the kids for the older groups work it (16U and 18U girls are capable of running Bingo with a coach or someone there supervising). They make a fair sum of money off of it, not sure how much... but enough for them to keep doing it. This is a team that pays for meals and hotel rooms for players through bingo.
