Looking for different ways to reach out to players in different surrounding counties. Other than facebook, and Craigslist, any ideas on how to advertise? Cities here in western Ky are very small.

I'm on the other side of this, we are just moving up rom rec and looking for teams in our area so I am your target audience. I have started to just look at Heybucket and ignore Active. At least for California, Heybucket has a lot more teams posting and they are much more active with their updates. Active seems really stagnate so it leads me to believe they don't have the same user count.

How about the non-online way too? -->actual physical signs on poster board at main intersections in whatever small towns you're trying to reach.

P.S. if you do get a fair turnout at the tryouts, IMO it would be neat to have a spot on the sign-up paperwork asking people where they heard about your tryouts. It could be helpful information for you in the future.
