For those with experience, how many times did a coach (who ended up giving an offer) come watch her pitch in live games? Any offers come just from action at a school camp? Mostly for mid majors. Thanks.

Offers for the most part will come on a visit...usually at the very end. If your DD gets an invite for a tour, it's highly likely an offer will be coming. Has your DD got the invite yet? School camps will help get them on the radar and it shows that there is some seriousness with your efforts. Was your DD in the "group" that got the real attention???

I would say unlikely they will offer just from a camp, unless she is something special and they have already been following her and there is some chatter already going on. Also depends on the school. Not all D1's are built the same. Possibly the conference.

Might be helpful if you share more information along with a timeline of events,

Thanks. Appreciated. this is for a 2025. She has had Mid Major coaches come watch between 1-5 games. She has a couple individual camps (with game play) coming up but we don’t think they have been to a game. These schools do follow her and she sends them updates. Just trying to get a feel for this as one more tournament and then September will be around corner.

The mid major in which my DD plays only watched her pitch in one tournament. I think she pitched two complete games that weekend and came in relief in a third game. At the end of the tournament, HC asked her to consider a visit. DD did some research, set up a visit, and was offered on the visit. She had a few other offers, but she wound up eventually committing to this particular school. She had not attended any of their camps, so she is not a good comparison...more of an example of how each girl's recruiting journey might vary.

An invite for a tour means "we'll show you around the place", right? Much more meaningful than an invite to a camp?

For 2025s the first step will be to see what camps she’s being personally invited too through the coaches or recruiting coordinators and what personalized corespondence is coming through mail and dms. Then see who calls on 9/1 and where she’s invited for visits. If she’s offered official visits those will likely result in an offer either that day or sometime shortly after. Unofficial visits still likely to get offers. Casual conversions with camp invites less likely probably has kids in front of you they’re more interested in. DD had probably 15 contacts on 9/1. 1 of those was an immediate offer first words, 3 of them were visit offers, the rest just initial conversations with schools we hadn’t considered, some that were interesting and some that she politely declined their interest. She ended up going on 3 visits and canceled visit 4 because she had made her decision. The 3 schools she ultimately chose between were schools she had been to camps at and had developed a relationship with the coaching staff.

DD is not a pitcher but mid major D1 commit, so right away might not be what you are wondering. However, DD never attended a camp at her committed school. She always emailed her schedule Soph year and summer and saw someone from the school at almost every event, friendlies, tournaments, OnDeck, etc.

After Sept 1, they set up a visit and an offer was made at the end.

Everyone's journey is different.

DD got 5 offers for D1 schools out of HS. All 5 attended several travel games. The school that attended the most was where she committed. She's a pitcher

Thanks for this. We were at the Legacy and Alliance Championship. Made note of coaches watching. A couple of those coaches have since sent an email for a camp. Any feel how important it would be to attend as it’s not an insignificant commitment to get to these?
