To start, I find it hard to believe a batter-runner hit a ball then completed a run of more than 120' by the time the ball descended to earth. :)

You're not the only one. A reasonably fast runner could reach 2B in six seconds. A ball staying in the air for that long would have to be hit over 140 feet high.

:eek: True - your comment has forced me to reflect.

When the ball hit the ground, I first looked at the runner at 3rd and saw that she retreated, I then looked to 1b for the batter and she was not there, so I looked at 2 and she was already standing on the bag. The batter is fast, but not that fast! I was sitting in the 3rd base dugout FWIW.
