    Default K-tape question

DD was questioned in two consecutive games for having k-tape on her pitching arm. She only wears it because it helps with forearm strain throwing the curve. It was two different sets of umpires and neither really knew if it was legal. It was black and matched uniforms. I argued that it was only illegal if it resembles the color of the ball. Both times it was agreed as legal but just looking clarification.

USA 6-6-B "A pitcher shall not wear any item on the pitching hand, wrist, forearm, elbow or thighs which may, in the umpires judgment, be distracting to the batter. Batting gloves shall not be worn on the pitching hand."

It is purely going to be at the umpires discretion.

If she is having pain throwing the curve and requires K-tape she is doing something very wrong. Quit trying to throw the pitch and get her to a qualified pitching coach before things go from bad to worse.

ASA rule supplement 41 a pitcher can wear a band aid on the finger or arm wrap on the arm as long ad the umpire feels it is not distracting to the batter. If the band aid or arm wrap are flesh colored "THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED"

Get flesh colored tape and you shouldn't have any trouble

My thing is, if her arms hurts, and she has to use K tape. Why is she pitching??? AND.......K TAPE is a rip OFF.......put a rubber band on her arm, when it falls off, all should be well!!! J/K but.....to the color. Its a distraction, take it off. If I were the opposing coach. I would argue that. No advantage! at least play the mind game! lol

Just a heads up that if your DD is being recruited college coaches consider K-tape a major red flag and will ask a lot of questions.

Just to clarify it is not pain. If it was I would and have shut her down. She explains it as a tightness. Not sure what causes it but still throws hard with or without. Maybe she just thinks it's cool. Idk.

If it is just because your DD thinks it is "cool" you need to re-read post #6...
