One thing I see in this clip, is the rear elbow drops/slots with the "twitch" action,
without the bat barrel/hands moving much at all in space.

Is this an absolute? or just something specific to Jr.?

When my DD swings, her hands are turning the barrel *AS* the elbow drops/slots - all in one motion.

During the initiation of the torso-engine (i.e., twitch) I like to see multiple things happening ... the rear lower back is becoming arched ... the rear shoulder is becoming semi-retracted ... the top-hand is attempting to stay up as the rear upper arm is adducted (i.e., pulled by the torso-engine ... you may view that as the rear arm becoming slotted without the hands moving forward much) ... the lead arm is aggressively put on plane with both forearms/hands as the lead-arm is 'pulled' via the lead lat, compliments of the torso-engine.
