For the record I am not saying it's working for me, just posting some pics in support on the conclusion I made on "Double E". Also it seems to working for a lot of big hitters according to these pics. And you are correct some of these pics may not be "exactly" square shoulders (while some are) , but it's pretty damn close. Really surprises me to see it on some outside pitches. The pics of judge was taken from a youtube clip "Aaron Judge's Longest Home Runs".. so they aren't mishits either

Years ago a poster by the name of Swingbuilder preached "hips and hands". He preached a simplistic three step sequence of Coil, Stretch, Separate. Depending on how you take those steps, you can get hitters fairly close to realizing the resultant rotation of the body that you see here. From a simplistic point of view the Coil can be thought of as getting into your rear leg ... the Stretch can be thought of as getting the slack out of the system as you move forward (walk-away-from-the-hands) ... the Separate can be thought of as the core usage of rotation & lateral bend ... in which case "Hips & Hands" becomes "Core & Hands".

That's cool, I'm not trying to change anybodies opinion.. I just didn't expect to see this when looking at these guys swings. Also noticed that the top hand elbow is traveling way out front for a lot of these guys when they are hitting their bombs

I hear you. Go ahead and take the concept into the cages with you. Work on it for a few weeks. Promote the concept with a few hitters and study their results with this concept during games. I did this ...... and it had me instead focusing more on what leads to the overall rotation over simply recommending a pure rotation based goal. Take the notion for a test drive and find out first hand how well it works for you and those that you work with.

I don't see the hips & shoulders completely squared here either.

Really? I mean he almost looks to be over rotating pass square to me. His right shoulder is actually back further than his left, I can almost read the entire name on the back of his jersey

I see the same thing .... which implies to me that the hips and shoulders are not completely/perfectly square.

An allowance of not being perfectly squared is necessary IMO. Fixate on having the hips & shoulders perfectly squared and I personally believe you'll learn to not fixate on that.

When I say square, I mean square with the pitcher.. the opposite of closed. Think I should make that clear first, I have a way of confusing things :). Now I know a lot of hitting instructors teach kids to keep their shoulders closed to a certain point up until or just before contact and through extension to a certain degree, depending on pitch location. I am not fixating on being perfectly square (hips and shoulders), but damn I expected a lot of these hitters to be more closed at contact than they are. Harper is the opposite of closed, he's gone past being square with the pitcher. I also expected a lot of these guys to be hitting the ball a little deeper in the zone.
