I'm a gadget geek, but Pocket Radar's are a bit above my price threshold to by on a whim as a fun to have item. My daughter doesn't pitch, but I do help coach her rec team. I don't know the first thing about pitching so I don't provide any coaching or feedback to our pitchers. What other coaching uses do you have for a pocket radar other than pitching? I bought her a Blast Motion awhile back and really feel like we get our money out of it. Allows me to give her instant feedback on her swing and her batting coach likes seeing the numbers off it too. I don't want to buy a Pocket Radar and then have it collect dust other than occasionally checking her throwing speed once or twice a year.

We use ours alot to test/track exit speed as well as overhand speed.

Buy a Bushnell they're a lot cheaper and everyone I've compared to a pocket radar has been very close +- 1 mph. Personally I don't put a lot of emphasis on speed in pitchers or catchers

They have several uses other than pitching. I use it to check bat speed, ball exit speed off the bat, overhand throwing speed as well as tracking my pitchers speed and catchers throwing speed. All are good uses. That said, I prefer my Zep sensor while batting since it gives many more metrics about the swing itself.
