Daughter's Ghost developed about a 2 in surface crack about 5 inches from the end of the bat. Just mailed it back to Easton. The bat was purchased in mid June when they first came out, so let's hope the later ones last longer. Regardless, she loves the bat and is hoping to get the replacement before a big college camp in a couple of weeks.

That's almost 6 months old...not like a month.

surface crack...are you sure it wasn't paint crack?

Yes, 6 months ago. I don't know what kind of crack it is. Easton will tell us. Her main hitting instructor advised that it was a possible safety risk. This coach is a former 20+ year college softball coach and player so we took her advice.
This will make 2 of the last 4 bats purchased not making it a year. This bat and a 2015 LXT that got tossed at ASA Nationals for the knuckle rattling.

Easton wont tell you, they will just replace. Not worth the time. To be honest, bats are made to last a year anymore which is why you get 1 year return. Days of bats
lasting years and years have been over. People want hot as fire, customers gotta give something up.

If it was a paint crack, then no biggie and not even an issue with the bat and could have kept going. Only saying because this happens quite often and people
mistake them for real cracks

I will say, its tough. Paint does look like cracks and I totally see why people would freak out. But I would bet half the "cracks" are
just paint. Paint doesn't "flake" like the old days much anymore.

Same thing as when a certain other bat company's bats get thin lines running all over the bat...its the paint because of what they use. Some people get all nervous.

I am probably just a little less nervous having been in the business for a long time and around bats for just as long. Some folks think I am
trying to convince them not to return bats. NOT THE CASE. I am trying to get them to hold onto the bat longer if its not a real issue
so they can use their return later if something bad happens. I would be very nervous using a return 3 months into a bat knowing I had
9 months left. I get pics from people of bats asking if I think a bat is a crack or not...I gladly will lend my opinion to help out. Heck, if the
bat only has one month warranty left, Im probably gonna suggest sending it in no matter what to use the darm warranty. heck, you paid for it...haha

What people need to understand is that bats are rolled composite fiber. I can see the seam below the crack where bat finished the roll the on the assembly line. We will use it until it fails, or until it doesn't pass an inspection. If we make it until about day 350, we will return it.

I'm all for using the bat as long as you realistically can, but having your favorite bat rejected (or breaking) going into a major tournament or series of important games sucks.

Just picked this up as a cage bat. DD hits this as her backup to the Ghost. Probably hotter when it's broke in!
