My team just won the USSSA ultimate fastpitch experience in Kansas City this past weekend and we got one of these bats(Rawlings Quatro 33/23). Not available to buy until mid summer 2016 we have not used it yet but will this weekend if you would like an update on its performance let me know.

The bat is awesome. We did this pic a couple of days before Notre Dame. My DD hit two over the fence and her teammate hit one. The bat is in her bat bag for good....Rawlings Quatro.jpg

This is bothersome. My daughter much prefers the feel of one piece bats, and to me the physics makes more sense too (rather get hit with a steel pipe or a foam pool noodle?). Her last three bats have all been Worth one piece composites, and there will not be a direct replacement for her current Legit 34/25 (fpl109). According to the Worth rep, the "top line" one piece Rawlings will only come in -12.5 (Aspire Model). Time to stock up on 2016 or 2015 models.

That's a pretty poor argument. Would you rather hit a softball with a steel pipe or a composite bat?

Not that it has anything to do with the WCWS, but DD and I caught a couple innings of the Pride VS Bandits on TV last night. There were a number of single piece bats in use, including a couple Combats. Sierra Romero had a single piece worth I think.

I would like to have seen that. All I have ever seen her swing was DeMarini. I wonder if there are some sponsorship agreements on which bats they should use. Back to my original statement though... the point I was trying to make wasn't that one piece bats were worse, just that multi-piece bats are NOT pool noodles. I would put a top of the line multipiece against a top of the line one piece any day. The only area I could see the one piece having an advantage would be with durability. IME multi-piece bats do seem to break more often.

When they are in college, a lot of the D1 schools have equipment contracts. For example Florida,Alabama-Easton. Oregon,Michigan-Demarini. Oklahoma, Tennessee-Worth/Rawlings......So in college they have to use gloves, batting gloves, bats, catching equipment, by whomever their school has the equipment contract with. Once they get to NPF it seems to be more open as far as brand usage..........Also with Andrea Duran she used a 2012 Xeno for a long time in NPF, and I think last year she was going through a slump and used Megan Willis Miken. Duran caught fire and continued using the Miken.
