Waiting for the first tourney is like waiting for Christmas

I really do appreciate the fact that DD's travel team coaches view the needs of a 10u team the way they do with a true 2-month break for an off-season, and love the fact that DD and I got to visit Athens this year because of it. But the suspense is overwhelming! We're still a few weeks out from getting started and it will be crazy enough when we do, but damn do I miss seeing the damp, dirt infields, the smell of bad coffee at 8:00 am, the faces of other over-tired and overly-enthusiastic parents, the grass dripping with morning dew, the sounds of the composites smacking a ball, the looks on the young ones faces as they see their challenge, the fatigue of playing that third game of the day, and most of all, the car rides where we share an hour or so with nobody else. Yeah, we got the quality time on our vacation but there's something special about a Saturday morning trip to wherever.

Enjoy it now because when they get to 16U and older, it's all about them sleeping that hour and letting Mom or Dad drive

I think next year I'll appreciate winter more. I forgot how constantly busy I am once it starts back up. We do love it though! I'm always anxious to get going. We played our first tournament the first weekend in Feb and have played a couple since but we're about to really get going. We have this weekend off then it's off to the races. Can't wait!

We have our first TB Tournament ever as a team and as a family this Saturday (10u). I don't know what to expect, but I'm anxious and hoping the girls have a good showing.

Move to FL. We played our last fall tourney in the middle of December and started back up in late January. I feel thankful for the 5 weeks off. I know of a few teams in the area that only had 2-3 weeks offs...

How exciting! Take lots of pics. I wish I had more from our All Stars team (when we first started tournaments).

We were supposed to have our first tourney next weekend but despite having weather in the 70s 2 weeks ago this week mother nature decided to dump a foot of snow on us so looks like that's not going to happen.

DD better hit one over fence this year otherwise I am going disown her. She doesn't seem to care, hate her.
