I know this has been discussed before - missing school for games

One day isn't going to hurt a straight A student. It is like being out for being sick. The fact you are concerned is enough to know she will be fine.

It is the kids who miss lots of school and pulls D's that shouldn't be missing school for softball.

We have games scheduled the early afternoon. We have a conflict though. She is going to attend the On Deck Texas Jamboree which is all day. So she will have to miss school and miss her Friday games. What I am more concerned about is the Rain that is coming. I saw that they are considering rescheduling the first or second week of November, which conflicts with our showcase schedule.

Yeah I saw the forecast...looks nasty right now. We are heading to Dallas for Batbusters showcase this weekend, so we will see how far reaching this system is. Hope it fizzles (as it has been known to do a few times before)...fortunately, the first game isn't until 11:40 a.m. Saturday, so we should know by then if this showcase will be canceled.

You have a link to this Weekend's BatBusters schedule? We don't have ours yet.
Also, we are in the same boat as you on Friday for the Ronald McDonald. DD was invited to play up with the 18U team and will have to miss school Friday to do it.

No, coach emailed us the schedule. I looked on their site, but they still have the 16U schedule from this past weekend up.

Yep missing class and managing time between school and ball is a must as they move up into college let her get used to it. Mine misses about 6 - 7 days per year for ball, straight A's highly recruited. As a wise old ball coach once said... " Sometimes you just gotta miss school"
