How many participants would be needed to host a camp?

Generally speaking, we are looking for 30+ at any camp we run, and we maintain a 7:1 student to instructor ratio at every event.

I wil note that School gyms will not actually be a viable location unless those gyms are completely turfed. Catcher's shin guards blocking on hard wood basketball courts tend to bother both the knees and the maintenance staff at the school.

For anyone interested. We always look for about a 30 x 50 (or larger) open indoor turfed space for our camps. Either as the primary location for a cold-weather climate camp, or the backup facility for a warm weather camp scheduled outside.

Please feel free to request additional information by sending an e-mail to roadtrips @catchingcamp.com

DD attended The Catching Camp in PA this past weekend. Very, very impressed with the camp. DD has never really been taught proper catching technique, so I was hopeful this camp would fill in a lot of gaps. Coach Jay went above and beyond expections. He is extremely well-versed, not only in the position but the physiology that goes into it. His passion for teaching and helping catchers really stood out. I'd highly recommend this camp if you're thinking about taking your DD or hosting The Catching Camp. Thank you Coach Jay!

DD attended this past weekend in PA as well. It was a great experience, a lot to digest! I will say that as much as the mechanics and drills were useful, coach Jay's pep talks were the best part. He spent a lot of time talking to the kids about how important the catcher position is, and what it takes to be a leader on the field. And while there were boys and girls attending, there were more girls and Jay worked more closely with them. If you can make it out to a road trip camp, I highly recommend it.

Agree with CNJ. DD hasn't caught a game since last spring and likely willn't catch again to MS ball next fall since her current coaches don't like their pitchers playing catcher as well. I think the pep talks and throwing instruction are worth the price of admission. Plus, as I've said before, the hardest she's ever worked was at Jay's camp July 2014 and I want her to appreciate how hard her catchers have to work.

So Cal
Jay, and his staff, are excellent teachers. My DD has attended the Road Trip camps twice, and both were very valuable in her development.
