Hey guys was wondering from those of you who have bought the shinguards if the padding is any good? DD knees would get beat up and bruised when she would block until we used some Schutt guards last year. She tried on the Mako guards and their padding system was pretty nice but wanted to get some opinions on the Promotions. Thanks in advance.

People with first-hand experience can give you more details, but the ProMotion legs are generally considered to be excellent for knee/patella padding.

My son uses them. He finds them much better than his previous Mizuno set. DD tried them on, but insists her All Star leg guards offer the best knee padding she's found. All I know is after a good catching workout with a lot of blocking, she used to have black and blue knees. Her last leg guards were the low end Wilson model. With the All Star, she says she feels like she can block all day. My son says the same of his Pro Motion legs from Wilson.

DD just got a new pair of the Promotion leg guards. She doesn't have any in-game experience with them yet, but in a couple of practices she is happy with the padding. She also tried on the Makos and I would say the Promotion padding is comparable. FYI, their is no knee "insert" with gel padding like some Schutt and All-Star leg guards have, but the Promotion padding is pretty thick and includes shin padding as well.

My daughter just got a new pair for Christmas. No games in them yet, but she loves the padding/feel of them. This after rapid fire blocking drills...

Thanks guys, really appreciate the info, I figured they would be good but you never know. Believe it or not I cant find any in stock around here so guess we will order and if they dont work for her will just return. She used the Schutt scorpion triple flex last year and they were a bit clunky in her words,so, she saved her money and she pays half and mom and dad pay half and she really wants to give these a try. Any more comments or info p;ease share.

My DD got a pair for the second half of last season and loved them. She had used the Schutt Scorpion and All Star Vela prior. She says the padding is about equal in them all, but that the Wilson guards stay in place better, are lighter and easier to move in. We replaced the single calf straps with the All Star dual strap which she preferred.

My daughter loves her Easton gear but the padding was lacking. So my wonderful mother who can stitch anything, made inserts that fit into her leg guards perfectly. Now when her inserts start going flat from so much blocking, we just put new ones in. They seem to last about 3 months but only cost $5 to make.

Awesome, how does she make them? What materials do you use for the padding as well as the material which covers the padding? My wife sews so this may be an option for us.
