    I know a guy who is an umpire and anytime I get the chance when he's working the plate, I sneak up behind him and yell that line. It always gets a laugh from him and I get a lot of looks from people.

    I was coaching first base at a 12U game last year. There was another game going on at a field right next to ours. I could hear a mother screaming at the umpire " How could that be a strike, she didn't even swing". She said it over and over. People started laughing at her and made her even madder.

    I'm from the Jacksonville area and the news story I saw said they were playing Dunlap. It also said she was taken to Memorial Medical center, so I would assume that was Springfield.

    Thanks for everyones response.So if she isn't supposed to take her hands to the ball, what movement or path ( I'm not sure if that is proper terminology) should she use?

    My 12 year old daughter is playing on a travel team this year. Her coach says she has a good swing but needs to get her hands to the ball quicker. I'm not familiar with hitting terminology. Can someone explain what this means and are there drills to help with this.

    My 10 yr. old daughter is in her second year of fastpitch.She has her good innings and bad innings.In her good innings she will strike out the side a lot, but when she has a bad inning she walks a lot of batters and she is pitching everything inside to a right handed batter.
