    What tee do you use?

The Schutt is good, but give Muhl Tech a look... Baseball Batting Tees and Training Batting Tees that groove the perfect swing.

    Elbow issue

My friends kid had a very similar, if not exact thing. Doc diagnosed Little Leaguers elbow. She could pitch fine, but couldn't throw overhand without pain. Doc pinched her elbow in a certain spot and knew what it was right away. Lots of rest and ice.

    Season in review

This was the first season in four years I did not coach my daughter's travel ball team for various reasons - work, and the father-daughter thing that I'm sure alot have experienced. She is a second year 12U player. It allowed me the opportunity to see things from a different perspective and to...

what should i do with this player?

Excellent post jimginas! Who are you associated with in Hampton Roads area?

    ASA vs Pony

NSA - Big deal for teams east of the mississippi. Not one west coast team signed up. Why? Pony - Northeast predominately. Great tournament for that area, less travel expense, etc. ASA - the show. Again, travel expenses and qualification affects participation.

    Girl Drama

And most of those cliques are lead by coaches kids....see it routinely around here. Can't stand it, but it happens. Ironically, the better players that carry the team don't seem to get caught up in it as much ...

    Umpiring - 2 man mechanics

Saw interesting call the other day. Runners on 1B and 2B. Batter hits fly ball to shallow RC. CF changes and dives for ball - ball appeared to have hit the ground, but tough call. Could have gone either way, depending on which side you were on. The plate ump calls safe, at the same time field...

    People of crazzzzzy!

I just saw a Easton Stealth SCN4B 32/22 go for $660 on ebay. Nonesense. Heck, the kid will grow out of the bat in the next 6 mos.!

    shoulder pain

Excellent description - thanks. No doubt my kid is a leap and drag pitcher. She has about a 7' stride, but occasionally lands with foot near perpendicular to the powerline. What are the risks with that - back pain?? Obviously knee problems. What else?

    The overhand (OH) throw

I would love to know how he can spot hitting flaws from OH throws. I would especially like to know how he figures out righty throwers and lefty hitters......

    Sup with this

C'mon, whining about a coach stealing you signs. Please. I think the guy was pretty cleaver in the way he did it. He could have just called out the signs. I also think he was a "nice guy" to stop when the ump asked him to - although I think the ump was wrong in doing so. Sounds to me like you...

    shoulder pain

Hal - Please describe Leap and Drag vs. Stepping. Also, please explain how stepping produces more impact on the landing foot than leap and drag? Just a little confused. It seems to me, having both types of pitchers on our team, that the stepper has significantly less impact. I do agree that hips...

    Possible overuse - lower back

The pain is on her glove side. She does land alot with her foot pointing across her body, but is working to correct. She does land flat footed as well. She is going to PT to strengthen her back, and it seems to be helping. She will "toss" a few pitches every other dayor so, with no pain, but if...

    shoulder pain

I will speak from a pitcher dad perspective - not pitching coach as I am not qualified to do so. My kid was one of those kids, that as a 10yo, pitched daily, could throw 6 games in a weekend with zero soreness come Monday. Just an animal. And, her team conditioned regularly. The winter...

    Possible overuse - lower back

She does an excellent job stretching, pretty much every part of her body possible. She stretches way beyond the ability of all her team mates - almost freaky at times. On most stretches, she says she doesn't feel the muscles stretching. She is horrible at staying on a strengthening program. She...

    Possible overuse - lower back

Would appreciate some thoughts - My daughter has severe lower back pain - but only when she pitches a full pitching motion. She can do "easy" tosses and all things up to the point of full power pitches which includes walk throughs. Again, the only time there is pain is on full pitches. She...

    Ll playoff roster rules

I'm mainly concerned with 11/12 as she is 12U.

    Ll playoff roster rules

It's been awhile since I've dealth with LL, but I know that in recent years, a girl could continue playing Travel Ball throughout the LL playoffs. We have one girl on our team (pitcher - go figure) that is playing on her LL allstar team and they are in the midst of their playoffs. Her father is...

    Have people lost their minds?

My kid had an Easton Stealth SCN4B (grey with gold handle) that she loved, but like most, it cracked and was replaced. The replacement was the white stealth, a good bat, which she out grew. We HAPPILY sold it to a team mate for nearly nothing - why - cause she was a team mate, and more...

    razzing the pitcher in U10

How about "pitcher has a candy arm and the catcher is sucking it" ... or "pitchers off his rocker, looks like Betty Crocker" That was funny stuff back then.
