Prominence of Concussions in Youth Sports

Nano sorry to hear about everything you and your dd have gone through but I am so glad she is okay. I hope she continues to improve and has no long lasting side effects.

Prominence of Concussions in Youth Sports

If you have a broken arm or leg you wouldn't return to playing till it's healed so why is it so different for concussions. Just because you can't see an x-ray showing the injury doesn't mean there isn't one. I agree that some doctors are a little too cautious but I still would rather err on the...

    Mako dead spot

At DD's last tournament noticed the MAKO was making a funny sound, checked it for any cracks or excessive flexing at the handle but found nothing. But yesterday doing tee work noticed on outside pitches the bat had a dead sound at the top of the sweet spot right at the fastpitch stamp. I took a...

In need of a new -8 bat.

Thanks for the info on the 454 had not heard about that. I've always liked the RT and have tried to get DD to give it a try but she feels like the endload makes her drop the bathead. Found out after varsity game today one of her teamates just got the CF5 34/25 so gonna give that a try in...

In need of a new -8 bat.

DD is currently swinging a xeno 34/26 and is looking for a new bat. Have read a lot on here about the new bats, but all of them have mostly been -10. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the CF5, the Miken Freak, or the Worth 454 and if so do they seem more balanced or end...

    New rt coming soon

I've heard good things about the miken but the local bat shop only demos louisville, demarini, worth and mizuno.Would love to demo RT and MIKEN. DD says she has noticed the same thing about the xeno especially on outside pitchs off the end of the bat. They just die.Had a CF3 that just blasted line...

    New rt coming soon

So would this be considered a two piece? Looking for dd a new bat and not a lot of luck with first try at two piece (XENO) lot of pop but not alot of dependability.DD's a lefty power hitter 5'9" 155lb. (she'll kill me for that!) broke two XENOS.

    Daddyball-ism

country boy-My apologies for misunderstanding. Did not mean to come on so strong. MY BAD.Our one experience with daddyball pretty bad to the point of dad holding up flash cards from stands for what pitchs his dd threw in middle school games. Went over real...

    Daddyball-ism

Well, heaven forbid if your dd doesn't have an absolutely perfectly level surface to try to win playing time. After all, we know that bias doesn't exist in any other arena she may face in life. HS coaches are perfect, employers are perfect, etc. Maybe you are doing dd a disservice by trying to...

    Daddyball-ism

You just hit head the nail on the head. DD has always been taught if you want playing time or position you have to earn/take it. Unfortunately sometimes with daddy ball the deck is not allways stacked fairly. I agree 99% of parents do look for the littlest bit of favortism on the part of...

    Daddyball-ism

I agree that not many softball teams would exist without dads donating their time & energy. Been there ,done that. But when you step on that field the daddy hat must come off or you've just adopted 11 dds!! Spent 2yrs. (12u&14u) dealing w/headcoach daddyball. HC's DD and my DD 2 main pitchers...
