Catch and carry
R1 at 1B, Batter hits deep ball to F8 who makes the catch but flips over temp fence. Umpire rules catch, dead ball awards R1 2B. How do you score the awarded base?- KBush

Too many pitchers!
Really hate to derail this thread, but how common is it to find a camp that takes these readings ? Done 3 college camps since school ended and none have done it so far. One was pitching only.- KBush

Has your daughter ever been on a team...
Uh, that would have been DD on her last team. She actually got to hit in last two tournaments. Finished .278 on the year with 0 K's. Prior to that she did almost 100% of the pitching. Coach didn't bat her because when you have to pitch 4 games in the heat, she wanted her in the dugout...- KBush

How far does everybody travel for practices with their travel team?
Last 3 years- an hour to team practice 2x a week, tournaments ~ 3 hour radius Last year- 2 hours to pitching coach 1x a week. New team for fall 2.5 hours to practice, tournaments 4-6 hour drive. Same pitching coach.- KBush

What would you do ?
MTR yes, finished 3rd out of 43 teams in Ft Walton Beach. Had an .827 ERA in 42 innings for the tournament. We have moved to a new team that focuses on exposure, the old team fell apart.- KBush

My DD will be a Freshman next year. Has Varsity experience as a 7th and 8th grader. In the past I wanted her to have the ball every inning. Now I understand the over use issue after seeing two friends go down in school ball this year. Her PC is adamant about taking breaks between school and...- KBush

What would you do ?
We're not looking to shop teams, we have great coaches who are excellent teachers. DD has really improved her defensive game with them. We'll just have to agree to disagree on the issue. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk- KBush

We played 16U this weekend. Won 2-1, lost 8-1, lost 2-0. First tournament of the year. DD pitched pretty good but team didn't hit well at all. Opposing pitching not overwhelming, they just weren't mentally "on". DD didn't bat. I think they should play more HS/16U tournaments. Almost all of...- KBush

What would you do ?
It's 14U. We have plenty of trinkets, won 6 last summer/fall (she pitched 101/121 total innings). First answer was no, then we'll talk at practice. I still say she gets more long term benefit from the camp. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk- KBush

My MVP
DD attended our schools sports banquet tonight. As a 7th grader she plays JV and Varsity and even got a couple of varsity starts in the circle. She was the JV MVP, her record was 10-3 with 92 K's facing just over 250 batters and an ERA of .938. Waiting on the coach to send me her varsity...- KBush

Dislocated pinky finger
DD fractured and dislocated PIP on ring finger of pitching hand last year. After 4 weeks she was pitching with a pin in her finger and a splint. After 4 more weeks the pin was removed. In the xray the last joint of the finger was completely seperated and at a 45 degree angle to the finger.- KBush

Interesting finish
This happened to one of our local HS baseball teams. Home team up by one run in bottom of the 9th 2 outs with tieing run on third. Passed ball deflects off backstop and on deck batter picks up the ball then tosses it to the catcher who tags the runner out. If the tag wasn't made wouldn't the...- KBush
