    100% intentional. Easy double play. The way the shortstop took the throw and immediately threw to third, this is practiced as well. Because the angle of the ball was dropping basically straight down at her feet, it was a minimal risk situation of a ball "squirting" away from her.

    I think many of the top players will stick with TB. There are a little over 100 Varsity Legion teams for baseball....you'd have to have almost that many for softball to cut down on travel. If even 10 teams sign up for next summer, that is a ton of travel to compete against the HS leagues out...

    So, if your daughter was the batter, do you want the double, or should she take the error? Skill level, eye sight, wind, sun, etc. all affect every play in softball. But again, you can have your opinion, but the softball rule book says its a hit.
