This is no a mental issue at all. I am wondering what is the best approach to pitch calling when corners are not called in a game. I understand a pitcher needs to find the umpires strike zone. Is up down the answer? This is elite ball and if too much ball is left on the plate the outcome will...
Is it better to play for a known team that is not very good or an unknown team that is better? That is the problem we are facing. Both have contacts with colleges and the travel distance is about the same.
With young ladies planning their life out as early as the 8th grade, I wonder how many have stayed with that committment from start to finish? I just feel like only one side of the story is told. I know many have expierence with a dd that has played and Amy spoke of a young lady that killed...
Seams every ones goal is for their dd to play college ball. Besides some money for school, what are your expectations?I look at it as an introduction to the real world. Kind of a first job. Is it better than working a 40hr a week job? I do not have any clue because I did not play a sport in...
I have a love hate relationship with lifting during the season. I think there is a happy medium, but I am not sure of what kinds and how often. My dd lifts through out the high school year. What would be an appropriate work out if any at all during the summer?
The last time I asked this it quickly got off topic. With all the discussion of masks and evo shields, does the stike zone matter in safety. More and more I am seeing smaller strike zones and balls getting hit hard up the middle. I am a fan of corners but not all umpires call them and many...
My DD is a college prospect that does throw low to mid 60s and has great movement. She has a 4.5 gpa and is a great kid. She has been playing gold ball and doing the showcase circuit since she was in 8th grade. With the high school season starting we looked at the schedule for the summer and...
We just returned from another college showcase and I left there confused. Showcases are suppose to showcase players talents. My DD had a line drive hit her in a game at another showcase a while back. This weekend I know of two that were hit and that is just at the complex we were at. Some...
My DD is an 14U Freshman pitching in primarily 18U. She is left-handed and has always had to deal with the "drag track" usually being different and various other issues with the pitching rubber but I what I want to know is...How many of your DD's out there pitching have to deal with temporary...
How are you going to handle the different pitching distances in 14u this year. We play ASA and USSA. We may only play USSSA to stay at 43 ft. to get ready for high school. But then we will miss out on ASA nationals and other tournaments at 40 ft. Am I overthinking. Would like input. Thanks
I live in the south, most of the fields we play at have a 43ft, 40 ft and a 35ft pitching rubber in the circle. Am I the only one that has a problem with this. From 40ft my DD looses footing on 35 ft rubber from her leg drive. From 43ft she drags her toe and catches it on the 40ft rubber. Just...
