we can both agree that there are other players with talent in the area. Like I said in my previous post, we'll take the most coachable players that will make a good fit with the team. My current team is 14U and will be 16U next year, so this has nothing to do with your 12U situation. Good...

Bryan - it's a shame that you fallen so out of touch with reality.

    Parents

At some point the child will pay for the parent's behavior. There are plenty of talanted, coachable players out there. At some point (around 14U) coaches start taking a hard look at mom and dad's behavior. It only takes one bad apple to ruin an otherwise fun season.

    pitching strategy

My DD's go to pitch is the Drop. It is most effective with very aggressive batters.

    "Liking the coach" and performance

Insulting them…….are you kidding me? Players can be challenged without being insulted. Coaches can also be firm and direct without belittling the players.

    Coaching Girls vs Coaching Boys

Sluggers: You’re right…….they don’t have to like their coach to perform well, but it certainly helps. I’m not suggesting that the coach should try to be their friend or be a pushover. Expectations should be made clear to the team and there needs to be consistent consequences when those...

    Coaching Girls vs Coaching Boys

I was at a clinic a number of years ago when this topic was discussed. A coach from a division one school said that the best advise he ever received was from his father, who had coached girls fastpitch for many years. When he asked his dad what the secret was his dad said "Just love them". I...

Mental help for the Coach's daughter. :)

I also am the coach of a 14U team and my daughter is one of our pitchers. It can be both a rewarding and frustrating experience.......all in the same day. I saw this on another forum and it seemed to sum it all up pretty well. ---------------------------------------------- 03/23/10 - I used...

    Daughter pitching at 13

Can someone comment on the height of the stide foot? Is it ok, or is she getting too high. We have worked on "getting out there more" or driving toward the target better. It seems that she might be over striding at this point. I appreciate all of the comments so far, and was just wondering...

    Daughter pitching at 13

She has always been very accurate, but has started to struggle lately (last month or so). She has started hitting her hip and keeps missing high. she has also lost velocity on all of her pitches. She seems to have lost her flow or rythm. She does tend to swim the glove and has been working...

    Non-Stride foot position

Daughter has been pitching for a couple of years. She has always positioned the foot that she pushes off of the rubber with directly at the catcher (directly down the power line). She recently started opening the toe a little, just prior to pushing off. she feels that it helps her get into an...
