Thank you, everyone for great advice. To answer your question below, she's 5'11" and about 170. She's lean and fairly muscular. Her mom's side of the family is just naturally big and strong. I'm thinking most of the progress would be made in her lower half --> as stated above...
Hi,
This Fall and Winter, we're looking to build the right kind of muscle to assist my daughter in her goals to throw harder. I am familiar with the right softball drills to build speed but am curious if anyone could comment on specific weight lifting activities that have produced more...
Both of these bats this year have the discs inside the barrel. Does anyone have an opinion on the differences. My daughter has a 32x22 xeno and we've got about 5 on the team now. The xeno is really, really good. Just curious about it's sister, the Catalyst...

Every team has a girl or two on it who bring that energy in the dugout. They are a little loud, wild and goofy. All good teams have them.
A couple weeks ago at the Tri Cities Ice Breaker in washington state one of my girls, faith, hit one out. It was her first ever and the 2nd hr in the...
I believe that's the follow through on her exaggerated peel drop. Seems a little dangerous to me. My team is up to bat so there's not much I can do about it, heheheh. ShockCoach -- I think you might know this team and the coach, actually...they're from your neck of the woods. Road Warriors.
I saw one checked by blue this weekend while we were waiting to play our next game. This bat is the real deal. The only negative I'd say is it does not perform as well when cold as a cf4. We're up in washington state and it's been COLD this year. Here is a hit by one of the girls on my team...
I have been coaching in the northwest for the past 6 years and we play almost the entire months of march/april and some of may with temps well below 60. Heck, even the early games june/july are in the 40s/50s. I have never seen a bat break and almost everyone is using composites. ( CF4...
Nice. I don't think she's getting her right leg loaded up as well as she could prior to pushing out. Her rocking movement on the rubber gets her going. More loading of the right leg will get her to push out stronger. The harder you drive out, the harder you stop which, if she "stays back"...

Have player balance on one leg ( the push off leg ) ready to begin pitch. Have them slowly bend their knee -- loading it up and then push off.
By having their foot off the ground, they MUST push off to start the pitch. Surprisingly enough, younger pitchers actually pitch faster...
I guess what I mean is...
She is very calm out there. There is not a lot of emotion...that's part of it. What is different than other pitchers is her finish. For lack of a better term way to describe it, it just doesn't look an explosive finish...it looks like a continuation of her motion...
Hi there,
In the past I've sent in some videos to the forum. You've all been really helpful. My daughter's really taken some nice steps the past year and I believe she's going to have her best year yet.
My daughter is 14, a 4.0 student, a great kid. She is a multi-sport athlete and a...
My team uses the Easton Natural Two-Tone helmets. The chin-strap snaps are separating on many of our helmets. It's a two piece design with part inside the helmet and the actual snap part on the outside.
Has anyone had this happen? Is there a snap repair kit? I have an email to Easton but...

Show bunt on first pitch with a runner on 1st. Watch what bunt defense does. If 3rd charges and no one covers 3, put on a bunt and run with the runner on 1st knowing to look to take 3b. Usually what happens is left field or pitcher tries to cover 3rd poorly, they make an...
I think machines have their place. We do a lot of different things with machines. I have two set up in my cage in the back yard. I totally agree that grooving fastballs is only good for fixing mechanics. Here are some things we do ( keep in mind we do a lot of front toss behind a screen, too...
With the help of this board and also, the advice of her pitching coach, my daughter came out and pitched great this weekend.
We were playing in the Tri Cities Ice Breaker tournament this past weekend and my #2 got drilled in the throwing hand trying to protect herself on a line drive. I went...
You all have been so helpful -- tremendous amount of insight. I'm going to show her this. I think it will help. Sluggers, I get what your saying...but I can't step away...then again, I don't think she's planning to be a college softball pitcher...basketball -- another story and I'm outta...
