I'm not a physicist but my limited understanding of physics leads me to believe the longer the lever (arm) the more torque that can be generated. Granted it takes more to get the longer lever up to speed but all things being equal a longer arm could throw a faster pitch. Just look at catapults...
I had the same problem, I went in to my Facebook->Settings->Apps and under the logged in with Facebook group I deleted DiscussFastpitch. Fixed the problem for me permanently.
Agree it's a good idea but the stats are definitely not accurate. Based on what I saw from some of the players on my daughter's team it looks like maybe 2-3 out of the 8 games they played are actually factored in to the stats.
The complex is going to be really nice once it is done. Our girls loved playing on the all turf. It plays fast as everyone has said and the turf can get hot. The tunnels and grass areas were not open when we played there so there wasn't much space to warm up. Definitely make sure the girls...
I don't think any kid should sit the whole game. However I am a firm believer in making players earn things. Guest players should expect to play so I have no issue there. I do question bringing in a guest player with a roster that big already.
Played in Iowa this summer at u11. The fields were fine at the park we played at. My only complaint was that they string the games out to make sure stay almost a week. A couple of days we only played 1 game.
I'm no where near as smart about a high level swing as most of you but you can have bat drag without dumping the barrel so I'm not sure I'd simplify what JJ started this thread for as just bat drag. Wouldn't the hands need to be addressed for the barrel dumpers?
Maybe the manager is focused on developing the kids at 10u and not necessarily winning tournaments? Hard for kids to develop if they don't hit or play on Sundays. With regards to your daughter I'd just talk to him and tell him what pitches she is working on and needs the opportunity to throw...
I put mine on the shelf for the last six months. I might try messing with it again this winter. The bat path that it depicts doesn't look anything like what DD's swing looks like. Not sure if it was calibrated wrong but I never could get it to match the swing you see on video.
softball.com is advertising them for $179.99 until tomorrow. I've heard not so good things about using them recently though. I bought an LXT from them last year with no issues.
We got the Worth Liberty Advanced as well and it has been great so far. It broke in pretty quickly using the method that someone previously linked to showing Aso from Wilson breaking in a glove. Doing that and playing catch for a week and she was using it in games. Still in good shape after...
