My daughter used to wear Nike, then we switched to Ringor for the pitching toe. She loves them and never wants to wear anything else. We’re in Oregon and went to the retail outlet and she was able to try a bunch of sizes and get properly fitted, so that might have helped.
I always figured it was mostly to minimize chances for injury. Many injuries involve sliding or collisions on the base paths. Good catchers and pitchers aren't easy to find so you want them healthy.
Way to go mom. Vinci BV1929-L was under the xmas tree for my DD last year too. She is a pitcher and went through an intense travel ball season with it this spring. She LOVES IT!
FloSoftball is streaming PGF games live this year. Has anyone seen these before? I am wondering if it's worth the subscription.
Anyone have any insight? Thanks.
When I coached 10u my Dad would always walk over to the dugout and give me advice on practice drills after a bad play in the field.
Center fielder drops a fly ball:
My dad: You gotta hit them fly balls at practice
Shortstop misses a ground ball:

Had a player in 10u rec that used DTS to her advantage. Would always swing at any wild pitch with 2 strikes on her and run to first like she had just hit the ball. Not something I'd teach, but thought it was pretty clever for a 9 year old to think up that approach.
Great thread. I do love every minute I spend with my DD on softball stuff. The best moments are when it's just the two of us on a car ride, or pitching, or just goofing off a little while we practice a few things on a Sunday afternoon. I hope when she's all grown up we'll still break out the...
My DD has been swinging the CF8 Insane for about a year. One travel ball season and lots of cage time. She LOVES this bat. Has thousands of swings on it and still pops.
Went through the tryout tour the first time this season and it was interesting and educational to say the least. The team DD really hoped to play for had the latest tryout and was a bit of a reach which which meant it was going to be at least a 2 week process and visiting at least 3 teams.
DD...
Most teams wouldn't have enough decent pitching to do a complete tournament if each game was 7 innings, especially at 10U.
I do agree that slowing down a little is not an unreasonable tactic, but it's another entirely to have fake untied shoes or ask girls to do things that are blatant time...
Once had an inning in 10u where my DD struck out all 7 batters she faced. Catcher dropped 4 third strikes. I was AC with the catchers mother. I was at the other end of the dugout biting my tongue while she was reassuring her DD with "it's OK punkin, just catch the next one". Does she not realize...
We've played games on that Jr. High field. It's awful. This is also generally in a higher income part of the Portland Metro Area. I don't believe this school is as strapped for cash as many others in the area. Doubt it's a case of not having the resources, but more not having the desire to...
^^^^ Easily my favorite player in college softball.
She looks better than I expected, hope she's back on the field soon. Based on Oregon's record without her, they need her back. Thanks for sharing.
I loved G.I. Joes. They had a pretty good selection of baseball/softball gear too. They went out of business and Dick's bought up most of their empty stores. At least that's the story I heard.
I was at the game. Nobody expected her to come back. She was up 7-0 in the 4th and had just owned the Oregon hitters. After she came back she gave up some walks, the ducks batted around and scored 6 on her. Tough kid, but she didn't seem the same as before she got hit. Heard second hand from...
One day for my DD it just finally happened. Suddenly I was hearing the sound of ball hitting glove instead of the ball hitting backstop. I remember the very day. I was warming her up to go into a game and I usually had a bucket next to me so I wasn't chasing balls between every pitch. I never...
