YES! High School Softball discussion!
Our season here in Iowa doesnt start until the day after Memorial Day. Practice can't start until May 11th if i remember correctly. DD gets her first Varsity win!
I'm really surprised more northern states like Iowa don't play softball and baseball in the summer? Our season this year started the day after Memorial day and will run into the second week of July at the earliest.- sodbuster93

DD gets her first Varsity win!
Last night was pretty awesome seeing DD come in for relief and walk away with her first win on the varsity level. I don't think she realized how big of a moment that was for her and the team. In IA players are allowed to play varsity your 8th grade year and up. So its possible to play 5 years varsity. If I remember correctly its because we play SB and BB in the summer. So far she is getting alot of encouragement from older girls mainly SO and FR. The team only has 4 upperclassmen 3...- sodbuster93

DD pitching for varsity as an 8th grader? To early?
My DD is being asked to pitch some for varsity this year due to low numbers on the team. I was told this was directly from the head coach this week. The school my DD attends plays in the smallest class in IA. So should I be worried about this or just let it be a learning lesson for her? One good...- sodbuster93
