My DD is in her sophomore year and has one offer from her top 3 schools. There area some talks and it appears her number 1 school may be coming in with an offer. IF that happens I feel pretty good she will accept the offer. Once you accept an offer I assume you email/call any other coaches that offered you and let them know. What about other coaches that are recruiting you, but have not offered....is it good practice to let them know as well? What about going to camps, etc. I assume you can go to any camp if you still want to. I would like to hear from anyone that has gone thru this. Thanks for your guidance!

What I advised my DD was to call every coach that she had gotten an offer from. I think this is the right thing to do. As far as other schools that she was interacting with but hadn't gotten a firm offer from, an email letting the coach know that they are no longer in the running was adequate. Schools that showed interest after she made her decision were always told that she was already committed and thanked for the interest.

Be careful. As I explained many moons ago, my dd had an offer from a D-I and she went full bore in. We had the camp shirts, the pink shirt from attending a cancer awareness game, ... She tried on one of that team's newly arrived uniforms as a sophomore while on an unofficial visit. Hook line and sinker. Then, in Aug before her signing, her offer was changed as the coach wanted to get another girl as well. IMO, they knew that they had her already. Wrong. I don't know what to tell you but I do know that nothing if final until that name is on that NLI.

Unless you are one of the top recruits in the country with an offer from a top program it is foolish to commit as a sophomore. Your stock should be rising. Wait until the summer and keep working the process.

I agree with you. I just wish ALL college coaches would agree to this too (not verballing before JR year).
