Unless I make a pitching change we go 1 and down after the first inning, with no throwing in IF or OF. Might have a different take if I was in the Great White North. :)

Although I prefer handling things your way, I can understand why certain coaches try to waste time. It is part of the rules, so they are just trying to utilize those rules (regardless how I feel about it). However, there are very few things that irritate me more than a coach playing the time game during a showcase event.

Do you really think that they will resume play and not wait for ESPN to finish a break? I do not see the tail wagging the dog. :)

Hope your right Riseball as I hate to miss any plays in a game. I am already making plans to move my bathroom closer to the tv because I just can't get it done in 90 seconds.

I'm surprised they didn't specify an exception for TV. FWIW, lots of P5 games are on conference networks and I've seen games where play resumed before TV comes back.

Watching SC games in person I am used to seeing someone in a headset standing next to the base umpire as they wait for the go ahead to resume. I suspect that the exception will occur as needed.

Time manipulation can be maddening but I can't say I have never done it either. When you put a clock on a game that wasn't meant to have one, you will always have those games played in TB.

I can't stand the huddle after every out, especially in TB.

As long as they're quick, I love it. They can all run in and do their thing in the time it takes the next batter to get set. Catcher stays put obviously but it's not that hard for the infielders to run in and back out. To me, that kind of camaraderie is part of what makes softball better than baseball. The congrats on outs, the running out of the dugout to celebrate a homerun, etc. That stuff is part of the *feeling* of softball to me and I don't want that to change. It does annoy me when they're slow about it, though.
