My daughter is also a 12U player currently but will be 13 at the time, not sure which camp is right for her.
So it could be a liability reason. Kids have waivers signed - coaches have them too I bet. If it's carved out of a business, they might want to limit potential loss. Seen this before.
Short answer - unless for liability reasons, I never stopped parents from watching. At a facility I used in the past, there was a very tight viewing area that could only accommodate 3-4 parents. We would get a few to stick around and I'd also occasionally pull them in to help with something...
Some other things to consider and touched on in other points:

- Set a preliminary schedule before tryouts - # of games, tournaments, practices per week so you set expectations
- Remember that they will...
The only other option you have is if you know it is an obvious bunt situation - you can have the short cover the bunt and leave 3B at home. But generally speaking, the SS needs to cover 3B and they have to communicate with each other that she is there or you will have two players going back to...
Just to close the loop on this one - We are going to New Berlin, WI for a two day USSSA qualifier. Knew a few coaches there last year and they gave it great reviews so one night away for this one as well.
12U 'B' team coach looking for good tournaments next spring/summer that are within 3.5 hours of Chicago that would be good from both a competitiveness and well run perspective. Any suggestions in southern WI, SW Michigan?
My organization requires us to zero out before the next season starts. It all sounds well and good to roll over but if your daughter was not on the team next year, I would think that would not be acceptable to keep their contribution for other girls to use.
And maybe one other thing to note - every team disbands after a season and then reforms the next year. Sometimes the same kids are back but each year is a new year.
