How to overcome fear of being hit by the ball.
Let me put in my own personal experience here. Once when I was pitching (I think I was in 14u), I had a very hard line drive hit right to my throat. Everyone barely saw that ball being hit. Fielding mask
May I also suggest getting a mouthguard for when players are up at bat? I've had way too many players having their teeth knocked back due to a bad foul ball. Heck, it saved my teeth a couple of times which was good after years of wearing braces!- SpeedyKat

Frustrated!
Well, I play in Ladies' Fastball as well as coaching (assistant) a Bantam/Midget team in local houseleagues. Wow, there's been some great points here in this thread. Sadly, my team does not have any practices (long story) although a couple of us were practicing on our own.
