In the rec center where daughter played we had a rock picking up day, one Saturday each team had a set time where players and parents showed up and picked up rocks, seemed to work out pretty good.

My daughter was taught the same mechanic for her drop change as described by Hillhouse, now she is 601 and has long fingers. IMO when thrown correctly it was almost un hit able, just like it dropped of a table. Not only was it hart to hit, catching it as not a lot of fun either.
Daughter used the peel drop and it was very effective for her, the only problem she had was the catcher had trouble catching it in high school, in college and travel ball not so much. She could change speed and rate of drop. She had long fingers which IMO helped her with that pitch. I could...
