DDs see no honor in being called up to varsity, and riding the bench-hear me out.

I haven't read all of the comments, so forgive me if this is covered. There is PLENTY of "honor" in sitting for varsity, and the best thing players can do is continue to be prepared at a moments notice in case their name is called. And it could be called at any time. Other people have already...

High School Softball- why do it?

Left out of every thread on subject. This gets left out if most every thread in this subject. My DD had zero desire to play on any team in TB except the one I started with another coach in our town. We took girls who wanted to play ball outside of the useless rec league in town. Most if them...

    Respect for the game

Getting the win. I don't consider working the clock disrespecting the game, but I understand the point being made. Somebody mentioned the possibility of beating a team they've never beaten before, and it reminded me of one of my favorite moments in my time coaching. We were facing out...

    Ole Miss and UCLA

After last night I'll guess their entire list season will consist of today's game only.

    Scoring Question

I have seen many a routine play on deflected balls. In this case we weren't told where the ball deflected to, or how far the SS had to move. We WERE told the SS got there in plenty of time to throw the runner out with a good throw. E-6

    Scoring Question

The opportunity didn't say the SS did well to have any play on it at all. They said since the SS got there so quickly..... I've had SS's that routinely got to deflections quickly. It could have been the case in this scenario.

    Trophy Kids documentary

The tennis kids will never be pro's, at least not anywhere near the top. the golf kid was on another documentary show called The Short game which chronicled other phenoms in the Jr World Championships at Pinehurst. Her dad is not alone in his craziness. they call her tigress and are sure she'll...

    Trophy Kids documentary

I watched it. It was difficult to decide, but i disliked the football father the most. The crap in the car after a game put him over the top with me. He told the kid to step aside so he could put another kid in the private school. Then it got worse. I had seen the golf player and father in The...

B'ham Thunderbolts 99 vs Tampa Mustangs at PGF

Did anybody out there happen to be watching the end of that game a few minutes ago? I was watching the Pointstreak liveview and wonder how it ended. I know it was on some kind of fc with bases loaded, and a run scored. I don't know if a throw home was attempted, or a double play attempt came up...

    HS Opening Day in GA

This was certainly true in our case. DD decided to only play TB with her local friends, on our B level team that never played an event in front of college coaches. Her recruitment consisted of coaches coming to watch her in high school games, and college camps only. She would not have been...

    GameChanger or iScore?

It can be done with iscore. the best of both is that parents unable to attend games can actually follow along pitch by pitch if the person scoring has internet connection. the graphics are crude, but it's a little bit like watching on tv. sort of.

    GameChanger or iScore?

You should certainly use one of them. This question is just like the which bat should dd use question. You should try out both to discover your own preference. Both have good and bad, easy and difficult. I personally prefer iscore. It's just easier to me, and it looks better, to me. I use my...

Winning 'B' Nationals means you should have been playing in the 'A' Bracket

This is what alot of people say, but this is a contradictory statement, right? You say it's about competing, but you want the competition eliminated from the start. You want teams out of the way, so your path to the trophy will be easier, right, based on that statement, at least. the...
