tough situation
Thats exactly what I think- I don't think he knows he does it.... but I've watched. Most likely I'm going to have to say something- if for no other reason then the 2 contrasts in coaching styles is confusing to the girls....- huskyfan

I'm coaching a rec team of 3-4th graders- (a few of them have never played softball before which gives you an idea of skill level)- All fine and good since it's a Rec league and we are not even having playoffs. teaching field positions- best way?
I'm managing/coaching an 8U team- I'm looking for suggestions in teaching the girls different field positions since it can be confusing. What I don't like is the league requires them to not play same position 2 innings....they want us to move them around. So how do you effectively teach each...- huskyfan

advice
these pitchers are not that good (which I think is part of the issue)- She looks for the walk- I throw probably 90% strikes (or close to it) but the umpires give the girls leeway- so if it's close- they will call it a strike- She can hit- She just gets wigged out when a girl is pitching- huskyfan

advice
My 12 year old is improving on her hitting- When I pitch to her - she hits like crazy- and won't swing at bad pitches- as soon as we hit a game and a girl is pitching to her- she loses her bearings.... (even if the girl pitches slower than me)- it's a mental thing- she will watch good pitches go...- huskyfan
