Unless they did a good enough job with the ball placement and the only way to hit it would be to leave the batter's box, which would make you out.
And yeah, drop dead isn't how the game was meant to be played. At least finish the inning.
Ruleset is USA Softball at least:
I really think USA softball got it wrong defining the hands separating as the start of the pitch, but that's one coach's opinion.
Well, according to the new guidance (I forget which sanction), that's illegal, but only because her hands don't separate until after her foot detaches from the rubber.
Still waiting to see how this all shakes out. I have some students though that I'm tempted to teach leap with...
Lol, this is exactly how I introduced my players to the concept of play calling (at 12u).
If the numbers add up to 9, bunt.
For pitchers, if it's odd, fastball, even, changeup. The first position indicated location.
Preach! Coaches take note - if you can't explain the purpose of a drill, and articulate it to your players, maybe you should reconsider the drill. I suspect the people that need to hear that aren't reading this forum though.
I love it! I'm also in the process of turning an overlooked right fielder who never had the chance into a catcher. I love taking the girls that others just glance over and turn them into real players. So rewarding!
I love the little rubberized golf balls, use them all the time, like these: Amazon link
Also, I'm a tennis player and have a Slinger ball machine that holds enough balls that I can set it up in one lane and a player can hit for 10 mins before needing to pick up. It also only throws with...
Knowing that this is 10u, unless you have a group of studs with high softball IQ, any time it's not a force play, I would:
1. Take the easy out.
2. Take the easy out.
3. Take the easy out.
4. Take the easy out. That said, I'd make sure my P and C knew the easy out was at home.
I don't disagree with either of you, I've just found that some people get hung up on swim (and I mentioned it because it was super obvious), but I think it should self correct if the focus is on leading with the elbow down the back side. If I'm going to focus on the glove side, I'm going to...
Your gut's right.
Fortunately, all is not lost!
This is a pretty good position, her arm has some bend, the ball is facing sideways which isn't the worst thing.
If I saw this still I'd think not bad, a couple of things to tweak here. Ignore the "glove swim", she's getting some great separation...
Bummer about that, boo to whatever loser stole your stuff.
Vinci is still having their custom sale right now. $199 for the $319. I would just call them, the number's on their website.
They've always been super good to me, see what they can do for you.
I'm a mom coach of a mediocre talent. I think about this a lot as I love the game, love coaching, coached before I had kids, and now give private hitting and pitching lessons on the side.
My DD is definitely not a walking billboard for me. Her attitude isn't great, she's like a 4 speed...
