    barrel/hand pivot point, a.k.a TTB

Which tilt? A/P tilt or oblique tilt (Front Hip higher than rear hip)?

    DD's opening front shoulder.

Learn to dissociate lower and upper body. Can she turn the hips independent of the shoulders? A drill for this could be stand facing a wall, bent arms 90 degrees in front of your face (like end position of a butterfly machine) and then press the forearms against the wall to fixate the shoulders...

How to avoid the unnecessary drama

Development is important but the most important thing at that age is fun. Winning isn't everything but losing EVERY game definitely is not fun, even if you tell the kids it is not about winning they are not stupid and will notice they lose. My take is no matter how good or bad you are, if you...

Hit the Back of the Cage? I Don’t Think So

While I agree with that back of the cage isn't ideal I think that is slightly overblown. Top back of the cage is about 10 degrees or so so back of the cage are 0 to 10. A lot of those are grounders (depending on EV, 5 degrees at 100 might be a low liner and 12 at 55 a grounder) but last year...

    hitting power

I don't think it matters at all. The collision is ao short that exerted force during contact doesn't matter much. In fact jason ochart from driveline told me many high level hitters he measured peak batspeed slightly before contact and actually decelerate before contact. Probably not ideal but...

Help with a Hitter at Foot Plant

Imo the key is to not launch the arms before the body. Don't slot the elbow but keep the scap "pinched" until the body launches so that the elbow is pulled down by the back shoulder and not lowering independently. After this happened the scap can release and the elbow adduct and the hand...

    fly balls

Definitely take the eye off. If you don't you have to run backwards a couple steps which slows you down.

    TM twitter thread

I don't always know what he talks about but I think the one thing you can take away from it is the shape of the "back of the arc" as he calls it. If you watch the pros their back of the arc is quite steep. What is bad is if the back arc is gradual slowly down and forward because the down arc...

    Importance of lead shoulder speed.

Isn't that basically the good old "spine engine " concept?

    Importance of lead shoulder speed.

Btw i think keeping the lead shoulder in isn't a bad swing thought. Eventually it needs to turn but the more the upper body is delayed the faster you can turn. What is bad is opening the lead shoulder well before footplant. If you keep the front shoulder in and open the hips you create a lot...

    The hitting Vault

Haven't paid the money for it but I have stolen his rear arm drill with the connection ball between upper arm and forearm

Btw here is how bregman thinks about his swing:) Check out @PlayBall’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/PlayBall/status/1087745014921416705?s=09

Very uncomplicated swing, reminds me a bit of beltran with a quite simple load with not much of a tip (pretty much starts with the bat in the shoulder plane) https://youtu.be/8icF1IF8u78

Bonds ... catching the ball with the bat.

I use the cue “like a "J" laying on the side" for the hand path, I.e slightly down then level.
