Do you allow TB pitcher to play rec ball?
I let my DD pitch rec ball last spring against older girls. She just wanted to play with her friends. She quickly realized why I didn't want her to but she stuck it out and it was good reps.- Bs61sdad

If anyone goes back and reads this, I was being facetious last March. I was looking for where to aim the gun but I got caught up in the fun. That is the opposing coach's way of complimenting your DD for her movement. My DD throws a mean peel drop. In July, at ASA Eastern A Nationals, there was a team that basically stood on the front chalk and uppercut DD's peel drop rendering it useless. That was 12U. Stride drill needed
How hard does she actually throw? If she's throwing all arm and her arm whip is incredibly fast and she doesn't put on the brakes, how much stride does she need? The farther my DD strides, the slower her arm whip gets. She merely starts on the rubber from a relaxed position and then pushes down...- Bs61sdad

Pitching speeds at LL World Series.....

What exactly qualifies a pitcher as 'Elite'?
An elite pitcher looks at home in the circle. The pitcher knows the situation yet shows no emotion. Where is pitching speed calculated?
I was hoping spin could be a temporary force and some physics guru could tell me how to get spin to increase speed using laces to soar until the spin died out. I'll go back to the concession stand and break the bad news to all the other dads. The moral of this story is to use movement pitches...- Bs61sdad

Where is pitching speed calculated?
I am not a physics expert, but if the spin thrusts a rise ball up, a drop ball down, and movement pitches horizontally, how can spin not briefly increase velocity causing a slight increase in time versus distance without using Jedi mind magic? Where is pitching speed calculated?
Her rise ball is pretty mean and it isn't because of her Jedi mind tricks. It's mean because of how the laces respond to the friction. There has to be a way for a ball's laces to catch the air and speed up the ball using thrust, if only briefly until friction makes it slow down even faster...but...- Bs61sdad

Where is pitching speed calculated?
If a rocket is launched utilizing thrust, isn't a pitcher's leg drive and arm whip a thrust? It seems to me, between leg drive, arm whip and proper utilization of spin, a ball can accelerate at some point between release and my glove when I am sitting on the bucket...otherwise, a rocket would...- Bs61sdad

Where is pitching speed calculated?
I'm asking a physics question because I am not a scientist. Does a ball change speeds, especially on movement pitches at a constant rate or does spin based upon laces hitting the resistant air change speeds at an irregular rate? I'm obviously not an Einstein.
