Yeah..I am not blamelessSure seems that way. Personally, I always appreciated your honesty. Sometimes honesty is not welcome.
Recognition is a challenging topic to me. Obviously there are levels to it, but awards should be reserved for those that excel; academically, athletically, professionally, etc. There are those that believe being average deserves an award.
I have no problem with external recognition when deserved. I just think that how those closest to you (teammates, coaches,colleagues,etc) perceive you is more important than some award and that parents shouldn’t make a big deal out of external recognition, one way or the other.
Of course this is just my opinion which I should be able to give on here without being accused of telling everybody what they should do…
