I am guessing its not possible to hit a certain spot every time but guys absolutely aim for certain parts of the ball.

Sure they may have a certain mindset but I doubt the results would be much different if they thought about pink elephants instead..

Absolutely incorrect !! I remember numerous times swinging and missing or fouling straight back and making the adjustment on the next pitch.

In all seriousness so you swung and missed on a fastball down the middle and then the next pitch if the guy threw an Uncle Charlie instead you adjusting where you aimed would help?

I refuse to believe that anybody facing 95+ from 60 or 65+ from 43 is able to try and hit a certain spot on the ball and be successful at it..the ball is a blur at those speeds/distances.

Hitting is so mental..if by thinking that adjusting your aim gave you an advantage then it probably did..but it would be no different than Nomar thinking that doing this

I moved out fb with "top of the ball mind set" and would read the spin and adjust timing and anticipated contact position based on passed experiences...
