I'm surprised with the actual weights of the drop 11's
Ghost 33/22 ASA (2018)............AW 23.3 oz
Ghost 31/20 ASA (2018)............AW 21.4 - 21.5
They are coming in anywhere from 1.3 to 1.5 over sticker!

In comparison to the drop 10 which is .3 to .9 over sticker
Ghost 32/22 ASA (2018)............AW 22.3 - 22.9 oz

Seems like the drop 11 is just a new model number with the same drop (actual weight) as the drop 10??

My daughter just got her 33 -11 USSSA and it weighs 33.504 on a certified scale. Went with drop 11 knowing Easton runs heavy.

Ghost 33/22 ASA (2018)............AW 23.3 oz
Ghost 33/23 ASA (2018)............AW 23.2 - 24.1 oz
Ghost 33/23 USSSA (2018)........AW 24.1 oz

Looks like at 23.5 it could have been marked either way.

Both of the 33/25’s I have at the house we’re 24.8 ounces. Barrel is marked “end loaded feel” and the balance point is identical to the 33 Rocketech I have on the wall. (The -10 Ghost was without a doubt “more balanced” but probably not “as balanced” as LXT or CF5 etc.) DD’s bat speed went UP when she went from a -10 Ghost to the -8’s. The line you usually see on the web is that “they should swing the heaviest bat that doesn’t affect bat speed”. So maybe Darling Daughter should be swinging a 26 ounce slowpitch bat so her bat speed can go UP again, lol! (I jest of course).

I’ve said this before, but knowing the weight of the bat only tells you part of the story of how it swings. Where the weight is distributed, where the balance point of the bat is tells some of the story too. I believe that’s the whole Anderson “moment of inertia” discussion which I won’t pretend to understand.

So here is a question: Does a 23.5 ounce -11 Ghost swing the same as a 23.5 ounce -10 Ghost? If so what is the point of a -11 other than to sell bats to make parents feel better. If not, where is the balance point on a -11 Ghost vs. a -10 Ghost? If they weigh about the same amount, but the -11 “swings lighter” then the balance point has to be different.

As I said, There is only ONE bat that the drop 11s run very close to sticker. And they capitalize on it big time because its their best selling bat.
And yes, the Xenos and LXT small drop11s are terrible as well. I never had a drop 11 Xeno less than an ounce overweight. So not just Easton.
Again, I think its why Rawlings just says screw it, and just doesn't deal with drop 11s.

Every other drop 11 bat is overweight by quite a bit. Problem is...most every other bat has inside technology (discs, barrels...whatever). To incorporate
that tech inside a drop 11, the barrel has to go smaller...and honestly, still tough to keep the weight down. But yes, they make drop11s because
people want the little drop 11s because they have seen how the Sprite sells. But the sprite has nothing inside so its a little easier.

Maybe that's why i'm so sold on the drop 11. The CF8 Sprite was the hottest bat she ever had in her hands.

As said above the only drop 11 I've seen close where the D bats Ls was always over sticker. The asa ghost we have in the -10 are pretty close to sticker. The -11 we have run about 1 oz over. The usssa version seems to be a tad heavier all the way around. it took a hitting session to adjust and never looked back.

Until your daughter gets bigger and starts exploding the Sprites at will...haha. They do not hold up well as kids get bigger and stronger.

generally speaking, I agree 100%, yet....

A classmate of my DD - a very strong 13yo TB player who hits bombs pretty regularly - has been using the same 32" CF8 Sprite for a couple of years. It looks clearly too small in her hands. It's also peppered with cleat marks. I'm stunned that it's still holding together.

Agreed. 2 of DDs teammates had them and we cried when they exploded. Great for 10u but I tend to think like Core....the percentages of CF -11s that make it long at 12u and up have to be small.

Did anyone who used the online return form get an email notification of when the replacement shipped, or did the bat just show up. Mine was received by Easton on Monday and I’ve heard nothing.

Core, I would have NEVER guessed that the -11 was any companies best seller. That is a very interesting piece of information.
