As of the 2014-2015 NFL season all 32/32 NFL teams now have an official team Chiropractor. In MLB 27/30 teams have an official team Chiropractor while the other 3 allow the players to consult Chiropractors outside on their own terms.

My whole family has had great success with our chiro. I will say that it took 4 to find a great fit. Ask around, word of mouth is best way to find a good one.

We got a referal to a Chiropractor from an atheletic trainer we trust. When we got there I was happy not to see dream catchers and incense anywhere. He evaluated her and told us the same thing her trainer did. "Muscular imbalance of the blah, blah, blah, because of this and that other reason...." He prescribed specific exercises which she did religiously. It may help that all of the young practitioners in this office were former athletes. He was a D1 pitcher. We had about 8 appointments over the course of two months where he gradually changed her prescribed therapy, and did some sort of deep muscle massage. He only did the "back crack" thing on her one time. Otherwise I felt like we were at a good physical therapist. She got better, still does the excercises, and life is good. I have nothing but respect for this one. After her last appointment, he said, "I hope I never see you in here again, and only get to read about you in the papers."

Chiropractic is not medicine - and they are not REALLY doctors. It doesn't mean they can't help people, but educationally they are not even at the level of a P.A. or an R.N.

Amen! That's exactly why I go there first. My chiro looks at the source of what is causing my problem. My pharmaceutical sponsored physician looks to drug the symptoms of my problem. Actually not completely true, he follows protocol of what my insurance company tells him to follow.

I trust my chiropractor more than I trust any PA at Kaiser...the last PA that they assigned me to gave me two prescriptions - which thankfully the pharmacist did not fill, stating loudly in a crowded pharmacy "you can't take these together - who's the moron that gave you these?"

DD totaled her car (not her fault) 3 weeks ago today. She will be the first one in our family to ever see a chiropractor on Wednesday. I am encouraged by all of your comments and hope that he will be able to alleviate the soreness in her back.

Couple years ago DD had an ankle sprain. Chiro did some massage and laser treatments and got her back in the circle sooner than expected. As someone mentioned it was like seeing a really good Physical Therapist. Going to a Chrio was better than a PT since that requires you see the PCP, try some drugs, followup with the PCP, get a script for PT... Much easier to just make a call and get it done. If you have one that understand the rigors of competitive sports they can be a great asset.

Uh huh. I've had WAY worse experiences with MDs than chiropractors. And I know way too much about the medical system to ever trust it. Chiropractors are totally different from MDs so of course, they're not MDs. Their schooling is just as long, though. Some chiros are more woo-woo, but they aren't all like that.

My wife is a Physical Therapist so the opinion around the house is not pro chiro, but that is based on the model of having the patient come in for a year and give them no suggestions on how to strengthen or improve the issue other then adjustments. But last summer after a few months of back pain we took my dd to a chiropractor, he adjusted her and used kinesio tape, next day my dd pitched her first perfect game and came 1 batter away from her second. This year we went to a different chiropractor and he helped her out with the pain and the issue with her pelvis that was causing the mis-alignment

This sounds very similar to what happened to my DD this past weekend! She got adjusted on Friday and pitched a Perfect Game on Saturday!
