Had one text me saying "God lead me to a new 16U team"....told her I could not argue with God and good luck.

Short and sweet with no BS because one day you may see this coach again in your daughters dug out.

Just tell the truth - a coaches goal at 16U and 18U should be to get their players recruited if they want to play at the next level. Wins and losses shouldn't matter. I would gladly lose every game this season, if at the end of the season every girl on our team was verballed to a school that makes her happy.

Some would insist that it does but the W/L record means the same in TB as it does in HS. They are recruiting the player, not the the team.

Slightly off topic, but I wonder how the forum feels about "team hoppers" and their recruitment chances? I know a person that has played for 5 different organizations in 5 years. And I am not talking about as a pick up player. If you include those it would easily be over 10 teams in 5 years. Do college coaches look at that?

If I was a college coach and was recruiting a player that had been with 5 different organizations in 5 years, I would want to know WHY!!!

It is certainly noticed, especially if they have personally seen you with multiple teams. Some coaches may not care while others may consider it an issue. Each coach is different.

There is a very good player in our area who has been on multiple teams over the years, but it had nothing to do with the player and everything to do with her dad being an over the top psycho softball dad who would wear out his welcome.
