More coil relative to what? I know you said Pujols but isn't the amount that someone coils dependent upon that person? So. you can't really say one person coils more than another. You can say coil or no coil.

Fielder has more coil. His shoulders and core, his bat, are all coiled more than Pujols. But that is one Pujols approach. Other films show a different beast! In that gif, Pujols is only coiling his rear hip.

Yes - I think she is too forward - in the right still she is using parts of her body better but she still wants to push with her hands which bleeds whatever corner she had created and the swing still wants to be out in front....I think in this particular swing she sensed she was going to be way out front and adjusted by bending her front arm...this pitch was middle....

she said it felt out of control to her which I attribute to her using her lower back better and the subsequent pull of her rear leg and hip on the upper body....she needs to learn how to resist by turning the barrel rearward and get behind the rear leg - not push and get in front...stay behind the corner longer....

When you put her lower back / rear leg/hip together

with an upper body like this....

She might be onto something really good...or if my other hitter develops the opposite...

To follow up straightleg, the top girl never gets to full extension. She is throwing the bat around her body in an arc. The bottom girl would get better extension if she would adjust that back, top hand wrist, and get more whip and roll later. This would be especially important on inside pitches. What is really going to upset you is straightleg and I would probably see nothing unusual about the bottom gif swing other than that. It isn't a powerful swing, but nothing peculiar to us. Her bat barrel follows the shoulder, in connection, all the way to connection at the back hip.

I have always known who John Booth is. I think he may be on my "short" friends list.

Nice! I don't know if you are being funny or not being funny. Either way it is pretty funny.

Sorry to dfp world. I have been much more interested in entertainment as of late then repeating my thoughts on hitting 3 times a day.

Wow - the top girl crowds the plate so that everything is an inside pitch to her - outside is her weakness, but nice analysis - you really nailed that one...

And the other hitter hit over .400 with a ton of extra basehits - but her swing is not that powerful....

Anything else? You are certainly on a roll....

And nothing you can say at this point will upset me - your lack of understanding is a good diversion from not being able to get out of my driveway - please continue!!

Good luck, Mann. It seems you got it all figured out. We have a different take on things....you should review Knight's thread. His daughter is coming along at a very fast clip.

The differences in progress are stunning. Part of this may be that Knight is more in tune and swinging a bat to confirm right from wrong.

There are two drills that really helped me. First, the SnF drill. Second, Tewks' "step open" drill. I think he can provide you with more information on that one.

The step open drill is a wonder way to feel the corner.
