I love watching this kid pitch. Not a dominant pitcher, but she has the best energy of any pitcher I have watched and I love that she pitches a lot bigger than she is. She has a great arm move when she strikes a girl out too, she punches them out like she is the ump. kid is a firecracker and a good example for the height challenged pitchers.

I agree even though she has struggled somewhat this season. She has a great change-up. Her dad is a member of DFP and posts infrequently.

I know both Katie and her dad. Katie is as she seems, a firecracker and incredibly driven. A great person and role model for anyone wanting to complete at a high level.

OK - have not seen this Cal pitcher yet - being from the frozen upper midwest tundra I probably will not get a chance to see here until super-regionals....

BUT!

I just got done watching the second game of the Minn vs Iowa Big10 matchup. They gotz this freshman pitcher Sara Groenewegen (9-0 now),....WOW that one is one to watch. Ya it was Iowa. Ya it was Big10. Still say this freshman is a gem.

Katie had a rough outing Friday as she was called for IPs that advanced runners 6 times.

Check out Rachel Fox of TX A&M - she's also listed as 5-4 (you know they're shorter than that). She pitched Friday's 4-1 win over Tenn and did well in today's 3-5 loss, especially since Tenn hammered the rest of the staff yesterday 2-15 (5). Fox has established herself this year after transferring from TX and sitting out a year.

Thanks for the kind words. She had fun this weekend and learning as she go's. 3 were on change up and 1 on an off speed. A little too excited maybe. Never a rough weekend when you are doing what you love for a living.

I'm a PAC-12 homer but have to admit that I have seen more illegal leaping in this conference than any other in the nation. I'm a little concerned that we may see a repeat of 2010 IP's called in regionals, super regionals, and the WCWS that will take away from the game. We, as a softball community, have not done a good job of enforcinig IP's at the younger ages and now we see the by product of little to no enforcement.

When I watch her, I am always hoping for a strikeout so I can see that arm move punching the girl out. I started showing video of her to my little one (she is also short and blond-compared to her amazon brunette sister). You should be very proud, judging by how the team uses her, they have a lot of confidence in her, and she is getting a top notch education to boot. Please mention to her that she is now officially a role model and I am sure I am not the only dad out there that has picked up on the fact that this is a young woman that I want my little one to emulate.
