DD has definitely played with That Girl, and in her rec league it starts in 8U! I heard a kid this summer tell her coach why she felt she never had to listen to him. Another girl DD played with in the past spent a lot of time screaming at her teammates for making mistakes - she'd scream until she cried and once even refused to go back on the field with them.

I'm so lucky that this fall's team is filled with nice kids and nice families. Everyone is so supportive of each other! It's been a refreshing fall season.

Good post.

DD has THAT girl on her VB team.....DD always says.... that 'tude wouldn't cut it on the softball field.

But reality is .... there are a lot of them in the older age groups.

DD played with THAT girl... Last All-Star season, it was never her fault when something bad happened and she was always blaming others.
She moved to TB after that season but is still doing rec to get pitching reps - she's a good player but her attitude can be really off-putting. There was talk about drama that season where there were some girls who thought they were better than other girls (DD was in the "good" group but didn't like what was happening so she kind of stopped hanging with them as much because of it)

DD isn't THAT girl or THE girl...except for the last point. She's well-liked by the parents and coaches. Her MS coaches put up with a lot with her that they don't with other kids. Honestly if she would put in just a little bit more effort, she could be really good. Her third season of SB, her 2nd in 8U, her coach emailed us directly and was saying all this awesome stuff about DD and how he saw good stuff in her...

DD played with THAT girl for the last 3 seasons. She finally got fed up with the attitude and with the coach's refusal to deal with it and decided to look at other teams. She could not be happier with her new team. She recently played her old team - watching THAT girl was sad. Playing with her was one thing, but watching from the other side was a whole other thing. She was rude, unsportsmanlike (wouldn't even shake DD's had thru the line), and just plain disrespectful. So glad to be gone from that situation.

For the most part I think people would describe DD as being THE girl. Her coaches always comment on how coachable she is, what a good team player she is, how she is always willing to help pick up, she will happily play anywhere etc. I think sometimes she could be a little more focused on advocating for herself...but that will come with time...
