I'm not sure this is within the rules, but if you run her back to 2nd have fielder stay there and have them call time. Once all the runners are on a base you should be able to call time out.
If the runner is half-way, just have C throw to third.
If she freezes, 3b sprints after her. If your pickle skill are not refined, tell 3B only to throw to 2nd at last minute. She either gets tagged out, or slides in safe.
Just don't ever let her run towards 3rd.
