Someone educate me on the appropriate number of pitchers a young pitcher say 14-17 yrs old should be throwing in games on average if they’re playing varsity ball or travel ball TOTAL…I’m speaking about total number of pitches say per week or weekend. Whats to much, and what’s the risks since it’s a natural type motion? What’s to much in your opinion or experiences?

The "natural motion" stuff is BS. There is nothing natural about accelerating your hand to 60+ mph or moving your hand to throw a rise.

Imho, it's better to think in terms of games. Why? Warming up.

A 100 pitch warmup is not unusual. If a kid throws 10 pitches in relief, the kid probably threw 110 pitches total.

From a repetitive injury standpoint, the body counts pitches off the fiels the same as pitchesion the field.

Say it again for the people in the back.
